Subway Rider Stabbed in the Neck at East Village Station
On Saturday night, a terrifying incident took place at an East Village subway station where a subway rider was stabbed in the neck, as reported by the NYPD.
According to the authorities, a 44-year-old commuter engaged in a physical altercation with an unidentified man following a verbal argument on the northbound platform of the 2nd Avenue F-train station just before 9:15 p.m.
During the scuffle, the assailant produced a knife and proceeded to stab the 44-year-old victim once in the right armpit and once in the neck, the NYPD confirmed.
Following the attack, the victim managed to escape the station and was attended to on the street level at 1st Avenue and 1st Street where he received medical assistance.
Fortunately, the injured individual was swiftly transported to Bellevue Hospital in a conscious state and is expected to make a full recovery, as per the NYPD statement.
As of now, no suspect has been apprehended, and law enforcement is actively investigating the incident to bring the perpetrator to justice.
