Oklahoma dad Rodney Shippy kills son with autism and dog and self in apparent murder-suicide in home where missing daughter, 20, was also found dead

A tragic incident unfolded in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where a father took the lives of his autistic son and the family dog before turning the gun on himself. The heartbreaking discovery was made by police while serving a search warrant after concerned out-of-state relatives reported the daughter, Alyssa, missing since November.
The lifeless bodies of Rodney Shippy, his son Logan, and the family dog were found inside their home. Further search led to the discovery of Alyssa’s body in the disheveled residence. The cause of her death is yet to be confirmed by the medical examiner.
The family is devastated by the loss of Alyssa and Logan and has set up a GoFundMe page to help with the unexpected financial burden of arranging their funerals.
This tragic event is not the first to haunt the family. In August 2022, Rodney’s wife, Lisa Shippy, took her own life at the same residence. Just five months later, Lisa’s mother, Diane Carpenter, was stabbed to death by her husband, Kenny Carpenter, who then shot himself during a standoff with police.
Neighbors and relatives described the family’s home as unsuitable for children, with no running water and trash covering the floors. Rodney had been increasingly isolated since his wife’s death, and public records indicated that the house was facing foreclosure due to unpaid principal.
As the investigation into the motive behind the killings continues, loved ones mourn the loss of Logan and Alyssa, remembering them as bright lights with promising futures ahead.
