OnePlus 15 Design Tipped to be Completely Different
The upcoming OnePlus 15 flagship smartphone is rumored to have a completely different design compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 13. According to a leak from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the OnePlus 15 will ditch the large circular camera module that has been a signature feature of OnePlus flagship phones since the OnePlus 11. Instead, the OnePlus 15 is said to feature a small square matrix in the upper left corner for its camera setup.
This new design direction is a departure from the recent squircle camera module design seen in the OnePlus 13T and OnePlus 13s. These models adopted a more iPhone-esque aesthetic, but it seems OnePlus is now opting for a smaller and square camera layout for the OnePlus 15.
In addition to the design changes, there have been rumors about potential downgrades in the OnePlus 15 specifications. The display is said to have a 1.5K resolution, a step down from the 4K screen of the OnePlus 13. The display will also be completely flat, abandoning the curved screen of the OnePlus 13. Whether this change can be considered a downgrade is up for debate.
Another rumored downgrade involves the camera system, which may no longer feature the collaboration with renowned camera brand Hasselblad. The partnership with Hasselblad has brought distinctive color enhancements and UI sophistication to OnePlus flagship phones, so it would be disappointing if this collaboration is discontinued in the OnePlus 15.
As we await more concrete information about the OnePlus 15, it’s clear that OnePlus is looking to shake things up with a new design direction and potential changes to key specifications. Fans of OnePlus devices will be eager to see how these rumored changes will impact the overall user experience of the OnePlus 15.
