Amazon Prime Video Renews “Overcompensating” for Season 2

Exciting news for fans of the hit series “Overcompensating” as Amazon Prime Video has officially renewed the show for a second season. The show’s creator, Benito Skinner, will be returning to star in, write, and executive produce the upcoming season.

Skinner expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response to the show, stating, “I have been so overwhelmed by the insane response to the show, and feel so damn lucky to go back to Yates University with Amazon MGM Studios, A24, Strong Baby, and this legendary cast for Season 2!! PLAY SUPER BASS :)”

The series regular cast includes Wally Baram, Mary Beth Barone, Adam DiMarco, and Rish Shah, with recurring roles played by Holmes, Corteon Moore, Owen Thiele, and Nell Verlaque. The star-studded guest list for the upcoming season includes Connie Britton, Kyle MacLachlan, Kaia Gerber, and many more.

Vernon Sanders, global head of television at Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios, shared his excitement for the new season, stating, “We look forward to our global Prime Video customers enjoying more of Benito’s captivating and bold storytelling in the second season of ‘Overcompensating.’”

Described as a college ensemble comedy, “Overcompensating” follows the journey of Benny, a closeted former football player, and Carmen, a high school outsider, as they navigate the ups and downs of college life with the help of Benny’s older sister and her boyfriend.

Sam French, head of US television at A24, praised Skinner’s vision for the show, stating, “From the very beginning, Benito brought us a vision that was fearless, hilarious, and deeply personal.”

The show is created, written, and executive produced by Skinner, with Scott King serving as showrunner. Executive producers include Jonah Hill, Matt Dines, Ali Goodwin, and Charli XCX, who also serves as the executive music producer.
