PA residents called as defense witnesses in Kohberger trial

Defense Witnesses Summoned for Bryan Kohberger’s Murder Trial

As the murder trial of accused killer Bryan Kohberger approaches, five individuals from his life in Pennsylvania have been called as defense witnesses for the upcoming trial. Kohberger is facing charges in the fatal 2022 stabbings of four University of Idaho students.

Among the summoned witnesses is Jesse Harris, the owner of the boxing gym where Kohberger trained. Additionally, Ann Parham, one of Kohberger’s former academic advisors, has been called to testify in court.

Kohberger’s trial is scheduled to begin in August.

Ralph Vecchio, who worked at an auto shop frequented by Kohberger, along with Maggie Sanders and Brandon Andreola, have also been named as potential witnesses in the case.

These witnesses have been instructed to appear at a court hearing on June 30 at the Monroe County Courthouse in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. During the hearing, they will have the opportunity to present reasons why they should not be compelled to testify at the out-of-state proceeding.

Kohberger, a former graduate student in criminal justice at Washington State University, is accused of killing University of Idaho students Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves. The tragic incident took place on November 13, 2022, when the four students were found dead in a rental home near the university’s campus in Moscow, Idaho.

A not-guilty plea has been entered on Kohberger’s behalf, and prosecutors have indicated that they will seek the death penalty if he is convicted.
