Pacers reverse punishment against Tyrese Haliburton’s dad

Indianapolis – Tyrese Haliburton’s father, John, has been granted permission to return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for Game 4 after missing the previous eight games due to an on-court altercation with Giannis Antetokounmpo during the Pacers’ series against the Bucks. The decision to ban John Haliburton from attending home or road games was lifted, allowing him to watch from a suite during home games.
The incident that led to the ban occurred after the Pacers eliminated the Bucks in Game 5 of the second-round series. John Haliburton took to the court, waving a towel with his son’s face on it in front of Antetokounmpo while shouting words of celebration. Antetokounmpo confronted him, leading to a heated exchange between the two.
Antetokounmpo later criticized John Haliburton’s actions as “very disrespectful.” Tyrese Haliburton also expressed his disapproval of his father’s behavior, stating that he needed to allow him to focus on playing basketball and not get involved in such confrontations.
Despite the incident, John Haliburton will now be allowed to attend home games and watch his son play. However, he will still be prohibited from attending road games. This decision marks a significant development in the ongoing saga between the Haliburton family and Antetokounmpo, and it will be interesting to see how things unfold as the playoffs progress.
