Patricia Heaton reveals why she left Los Angeles for Nashville
Actress Patricia Heaton recently opened up about her decision to leave Los Angeles in a podcast interview with Dave Rubin on “The Rubin Report.” She cited reasons such as high taxes, crime, and homelessness as contributing factors to her departure from the city.
Heaton revealed that while filming her movie “Unexpected” in Oklahoma, she realized that she was working more outside of LA than within the city. This, coupled with the high taxes and growing concerns about safety and homelessness, prompted her to make the decision to leave. She and her family ultimately chose to relocate to Nashville, where they had friends and felt more comfortable.
Reflecting on her decision to leave LA, Heaton expressed a sense of sadness about the changes she observed in the city. She noted that many writers from her previous shows, such as “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Middle,” had also left and returned to their hometowns. The actress mentioned receiving emails from former colleagues who acknowledged that she had made the right choice by leaving the city.
Heaton also highlighted the impact of recent events, such as the fires in LA earlier this year, on her perception of the city. She criticized local and state officials for their response to the fires and emphasized the importance of community involvement in addressing challenges. Heaton stressed that residents cannot solely rely on the government to solve problems and must take initiative in coming together to make a difference.
Comedian and actor John O’Hurley echoed similar sentiments during an interview on Fox News’ “The Brian Kilmeade Show.” He expressed his reluctance to continue living in LA due to the shrinking film industry and the lack of opportunities for work in the city. O’Hurley noted that most of his recent projects were filmed in locations outside of California, such as Georgia, Tennessee, and New York.
In conclusion, Heaton and O’Hurley’s experiences reflect a growing trend of individuals in the entertainment industry choosing to leave Los Angeles in search of better opportunities and quality of life. The challenges posed by high taxes, crime, and homelessness have led many to reconsider their ties to the city and explore alternative locations for work and residence.
