Patriots fan Shelly Sepulveda dead after cancer battle — weeks after team owner Robert Kraft surprised her with Super Bowl tickets
A devoted New England Patriots superfan, Shelly Sepulveda, passed away after a valiant two-year battle with ovarian cancer. The 42-year-old mother of six was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in 2024 and had been undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Despite the challenges she faced, Sepulveda found solace in watching her favorite team play.
In a heartwarming gesture, Patriots owner Robert Kraft gifted Sepulveda tickets to Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California. The emotional moment was captured on video as Sepulveda expressed her gratitude to Kraft for the opportunity to watch her beloved team play in person. The tickets were presented to her on the field at Gillette Stadium following a playoff win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Tragically, Sepulveda’s health took a turn for the worse shortly after receiving the tickets. She was hospitalized with low blood counts and eventually passed away on Monday. Her wife, Tami Sepulveda, shared the devastating news on social media, describing Sepulveda as a fighter who tried her best to stay strong for her family.
Throughout their 23-year relationship, the couple fostered over 20 children and adopted five, in addition to having a biological son. Sepulveda’s unwavering love for her family and her determination to keep fighting despite the odds serve as a testament to her strength and resilience.
In her own words, Sepulveda described her battle with cancer as a constant struggle for survival. She emphasized the importance of having a strong support system and the motivation she drew from her children to keep pushing forward. Sepulveda’s story touched the hearts of many, leading to an outpouring of support through a GoFundMe campaign to help her family with the financial burden of her illness.
As her family and friends mourn the loss of a beloved wife, mother, and friend, Sepulveda’s legacy of courage and love lives on. Her story serves as a reminder of the power of resilience in the face of adversity and the importance of cherishing every moment with those we hold dear.
