Pennsylvania experiencing ‘intermittent’ 911 outages: Police

Pennsylvania is currently facing “intermittent” statewide 911 outages, as confirmed by officials on Friday. The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency took to social media to acknowledge the existence of “some outages” and assured the public that they are actively working to resolve the issue and restore service.

In light of these outages, the agency issued a reminder for individuals to only dial 911 in the case of true emergencies, rather than testing the system’s functionality. This plea comes as a precautionary measure to ensure that emergency lines remain available for those in urgent need of assistance.

The Philadelphia Police Department also addressed the situation, noting that the outage is sporadic and that certain calls are still managing to go through. However, the intermittent nature of the outages may impede residents’ ability to reach emergency services through the conventional 911 system.

In the event that individuals are unable to connect with 911, law enforcement officials advise them to contact their local Philadelphia Police District directly for assistance. This alternative method of reaching out for help can provide a temporary solution until the statewide 911 service is fully restored.

As the situation continues to develop, it is recommended to stay updated on any new developments or resolutions regarding the 911 outages. Please check back for further updates on this ongoing issue.
