Pete Davidson Says He’d Return to ‘SNL’ if Lorne Michaels Asked

Pete Davidson, the actor-comedian known for his time on “Saturday Night Live,” recently expressed his willingness to return to the show if asked by creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels. In an interview with People on Nov. 8, Davidson credited Michaels with jump-starting his career and stated, “I owe that guy my life. I’d do anything for Lorne, and he knows that.”

Joining the “SNL” ensemble at just 20 years old, Davidson became one of the youngest cast members in the show’s history. Alongside iconic stars like Eddie Murphy and Robert Downey Jr., Davidson made a mark on the show before his twenty-first birthday.

During his eight seasons on “SNL” from 2014 to 2022, Davidson not only showcased his comedic talents but also ventured into film and television projects. He co-wrote and starred in the Judd Apatow-directed film “The King of Staten Island” and appeared in various movies like “Fast X,” “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” and “The Pick-Up.” Additionally, he ventured into the world of television with the Peacock series “Bupkis” and even delved into commercial work with a Taco Bell ad campaign. Currently, Davidson is collaborating with Amazon for Alexa+.

Despite his success outside of “SNL,” Davidson still holds a special place for the show that catapulted his career. Reflecting on his time on the show, he mentioned, “It’s always relevant. It’s a hot show. People look forward to it, and the cast is great.”

Having returned to host an episode in October of 2023, Davidson continues to cherish his “SNL” roots and remains open to future opportunities on the iconic sketch comedy series.
