Peter Attia Apologizes for Correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein

Dr. Peter Attia, a well-known author, health influencer, and celebrity doctor, recently made headlines after a statement he released on X addressing his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In the statement, Attia expressed shame for his association with Epstein, which was revealed through emails included in the Department of Justice’s latest Epstein files release.

Attia clarified that he was not involved in any criminal activity related to Epstein and that his interactions with him were not connected to Epstein’s sexual abuse or exploitation of others. He emphasized that he had never been on Epstein’s plane, visited his island, or attended any of his infamous sex parties. Despite this, Attia acknowledged that his correspondence with Epstein was embarrassing, tasteless, and indefensible.

The latest batch of files from the Department of Justice mentioned Attia over 1,700 times, showing a prolonged exchange of emails with Epstein even after the financier faced charges of sex trafficking and prostitution. In one email to Lesley Groff, a former assistant to Epstein, Attia mentioned feeling withdrawal when not seeing Epstein, adding to the scrutiny surrounding their relationship.

On a separate note, CBS News recently named Attia as one of 19 new contributors, as part of editor-in-chief Bari Weiss’s efforts to revamp the program for the modern era of media and news. However, Attia’s connection to Epstein has sparked significant backlash online, leading to questions about his future as a contributor for CBS News.

As the controversy surrounding Dr. Peter Attia continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how CBS News will address the situation and whether Attia will continue in his role as a contributor. The ongoing scrutiny serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency and accountability, particularly in high-profile positions within the media industry.
