Plimsoll Prods. Launches Digital Division, to Be Run By Ged Mansfield

Plimsoll Productions, a division of ITV Studios, has announced the launch of Plimsoll Digital, a new digital division led by longtime Plimsoll executive Ged Mansfield. Mansfield, who will serve as the creative director of development and digital, will report to Alan Eyres, the head of Plimsoll USA.

The new division aims to develop digital formats and explore emerging technologies, with a focus on responsible uses for generative AI to empower creatives. Mansfield will leverage the company’s extensive programming archive and library footage, which includes natural history, adventure, documentary, and factual entertainment content. Additionally, he will collaborate with ITV Studios’ digital content label Zoo 55, which manages Plimsoll’s presence on YouTube and other FAST channels.

Alan Eyres expressed confidence in Mansfield’s leadership, praising his ability to combine vision, production expertise, and compelling narratives to engage audiences across multiple platforms. Mansfield’s previous credits include successful shows like “A Real Bug’s Life,” “Tiny World,” and “Animal,” with upcoming projects such as “Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters” and “Surviving Pompeii with Tom Hiddleston.”

In a statement, Mansfield emphasized the importance of embracing new tools and formats to enhance storytelling. He highlighted the need for original ideas and thoughtful innovation to push the boundaries of visual storytelling. Plimsoll Productions has recently received recognition with four Emmy Awards for “A Real Bug’s Life” and has produced acclaimed shows like “The Devil’s Climb” and “The Child Who Caught a Killer.”
