Powerball jackpot climbs to estimated $1.5 billion after no Wednesday winner

The Powerball jackpot is reaching unprecedented heights, with an estimated $1.5 billion up for grabs in the upcoming Saturday night drawing. This staggering sum marks the fifth-largest prize in Powerball history, as no ticket matched all six numbers drawn in Wednesday’s lottery.

Initially, a $1.25 billion jackpot was on the line for Wednesday night’s drawing, with a cash value of $572.1 million. The winning numbers drawn were 25, 33, 53, 62, 66, and the red Powerball 17. This jackpot was the sixth largest in Powerball history, with the biggest prize ever being $2.04 billion won on November 7, 2022.

The last time the Powerball jackpot was hit was on September 6, when two tickets in Missouri and Texas split a $1.787 billion prize. Since then, there have been 43 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner, leading to the record-breaking $1.5 billion jackpot.

Had a player won on Wednesday night, they would have had the option to receive annual payments totaling an estimated $1.25 billion or a lump sum payment of $572.1 million. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are a staggering 1 in 292.2 million, making it a challenging but potentially life-changing opportunity for players.

The drawing for the $1.5 billion jackpot will take place just before 11 p.m. ET in the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Powerball tickets are priced at $2 per play, offering players a chance to win big for a small investment.

As excitement builds for the massive jackpot, players across the country are eagerly anticipating the chance to become the next Powerball millionaire. Will Saturday night be the night that changes someone’s life forever? Only time will tell as the countdown to the drawing begins.
