Predator rapes, robs 25-year-old NYC woman after threatening her at knifepoint at Bronx hotel: cops
A horrifying incident took place at a Bronx hotel where a predator raped and robbed a 25-year-old acquaintance after threatening her at knifepoint. The disturbing event occurred at Hotel OPUS on East 222nd Street near Ely Avenue in Baychester late last month, as reported by authorities and sources.
The assailant, wearing a backpack, entered the hotel with the victim around 9 a.m. on August 29th. He then brandished a knife, repeatedly demanding her cooperation. The predator proceeded to steal $400 from the woman’s wallet before forcing her to undress and committing the heinous act of rape.
The victim was later taken to Jacobi University Hospital Medical Center by EMS workers, where she was listed in stable condition. Meanwhile, the perpetrator fled the scene, heading south on East 222nd Street, evading capture by law enforcement.
It remains unclear whether the victim and the attacker had arranged to meet or if he had followed her to the hotel. The NYPD released a video showcasing the suspect knocking on the hotel door and jumping a subway turnstile, but he is still at large.
The suspect is described as a man with a dark complexion, last seen wearing glasses, a white T-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, and carrying a black backpack. Authorities urge anyone with information about the perpetrator’s whereabouts to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Crime Stoppers website or by using the @NYPDTips app.
