Pressure cookers sold at Aldi recalled after customers suffer severe burns
Recall Issued for Over 46,000 Ambiano Electric Pressure Cookers Sold at Aldi
More than 46,000 pressure-cookers are being recalled due to reports of burn injuries, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall affects Ambiano Electric Pressure Cookers sold at Aldi stores.
The issue with the pressure cookers is that the lid can be opened before sufficient steam pressure has been released, causing hot contents to escape and potentially lead to burn injuries for consumers.
The recall was initiated by importer Tempo USA after receiving 11 reports of contents bursting out under pressure, with eight of those reports involving severe burn injuries to consumers. Customers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled cookers.
The affected product was sold at Aldi stores nationwide between January 2016 and December 2019. To receive a refund, customers can contact Tempo USA or Aldi. They have the option to return the pressure cooker to any Aldi retail location for a full refund or submit photos of the cooker for a refund via email.
Although Aldi markets the brand, its appliances are typically imported by third-party suppliers such as Tempo USA. Aldi often collaborates with independent distributors and importers to provide its customers with a variety of small home appliances.
