Prime Video Unveils Stills of First Danish Original ‘Snake Killer’
Amazon Prime Video has released the first images from their upcoming crime thriller series, “Snake Killer,” featuring Pilou Asbæk in the lead role. This marks the first Danish original production from Amazon MGM Studios.
Written and directed by Anders Ølholm, known for his work on “Shorta,” the series was filmed in Copenhagen and features a talented cast including Lars Ranthe, Mira Obling, Joey Moe, Joen Højerslev, Laura Christensen, and Ali Al-Bayate.
“Snake Killer” is currently in post-production and is based on real events surrounding Copenhagen’s narcotics patrol, known as the most notorious police unit in Danish history. Asbæk plays Brian, a charismatic officer who is willing to bend the rules to get results. When a young informant is murdered, Brian and his team of outlaw officers take on a criminal network in a high-stakes battle.
The series, consisting of four episodes, is a co-production with Nordisk Film and is set to premiere on Prime Video in the Nordic region in early 2026. Emilia Widstrand, head of Nordic Originals at Amazon MGM Studios, expressed excitement about bringing “Snake Killer” to audiences, highlighting the collaboration with Nordisk Film and the talented cast and crew.
