ProMach acquires American Holt and Pride Engineering from Arcline Investment

ProMach, a leading packaging company, has recently made a significant acquisition by purchasing American Holt, DMA Solution, and Pride Engineering from Arcline Investment Management. Collectively known as AmHolt, these companies specialize in designing and producing components used in packaging for various industries, including beverages, food, protein, and home care products.

The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed, but the acquisition is seen as a strategic move to expand ProMach’s capabilities in the consumer packaged goods sector. Pride Engineering, a manufacturer of specialized components for aluminum can production, will further enhance ProMach’s offerings in the packaging industry.

With operations in Massachusetts, Quebec, and Minnesota, AmHolt’s workforce will now be integrated into ProMach’s Primary Packaging division, led by group president Doug Stambaugh. This division comprises 14 brands that supply filling, capping, labeling, and product handling systems to consumer goods manufacturers worldwide.

ProMach’s President and CEO, Mark Anderson, expressed his excitement about the acquisition, stating, “The AmHolt companies are well recognized for their quality design and manufacture, as well as for their ability to partner with consumer-packaged goods companies to improve efficiency and uptime. We are proud to welcome their world-class products into our portfolio.”

Former CEO of AmHolt, Cliff Gilbert, will now serve as the senior vice president within ProMach’s Primary Packaging unit. Gilbert commented on the acquisition, saying, “Joining ProMach is an exciting opportunity that will allow us to continue and expand our vision to be a world-class solution provider.”

This acquisition is part of ProMach’s overall growth strategy, which has included a series of acquisitions in recent years. Last month, the company acquired DFT Technology, specializing in the thermal treatment of food products. In 2024, ProMach acquired Etiflex, a Mexican labels producer, and in previous years, the company acquired Reepack, an Italian packaging machinery manufacturer, and Serpa Packaging Solutions.

The integration of American Holt and Pride Engineering into ProMach’s portfolio further solidifies the company’s position as a leading provider of packaging solutions. The synergies between the newly acquired companies and existing ProMach brands are expected to bring exciting opportunities for both the company and its customers.
