Exciting News: “The Rainmaker” Renewed for Season 2 on USA Network
After a successful first season, “The Rainmaker” has officially been renewed for a second season on USA Network. The legal drama, based on the John Grisham novel of the same name, will be returning in 2026. The series, produced by Lionsgate Television and Blumhouse Television, has been well-received by viewers, with the first nine episodes averaging 1.3 million viewers across all platforms.
Val Boreland, president of entertainment at Versant, expressed excitement about the renewal, stating, “The verdict is in — ‘The Rainmaker’ is returning for season two on USA Network. Along with our brilliant showrunner Michael Seitzman and our partners at Lionsgate and Blumhouse, we’re thrilled to build on the momentum and deliver another compelling chapter of this gripping legal drama for our viewers.”
The cast of “The Rainmaker” includes Milo Callaghan, John Slattery, Lana Parrilla, Madison Iseman, P.J. Byrne, Dan Fogler, Wade Briggs, and Robyn Cara. The series follows Rudy Baylor (Callaghan), a recent law school graduate, as he navigates the legal world alongside courtroom lion Leo Drummond (Slattery) and his law school girlfriend, Sarah (Iseman). The team uncovers two interconnected conspiracies surrounding the mysterious death of their client’s son.
Executive producer and showrunner Michael Seitzman leads the talented team behind “The Rainmaker,” with Grisham, Patrick Moran, Jason Richman, David Gernert, and Jason Blum also serving as executive producers.
The renewal of “The Rainmaker” comes as part of USA Network’s transition to Versant, a newly formed media company that will soon be publicly traded. This move marks a return to original scripted programming for USA, with the network also preparing for the debut of the drama series “Anna Pigeon.”
