Rapper 2 Chainz explains why he’d always pick Kobe Bryant over LeBron James and Michael Jordan

Rapper 2 Chainz, also known as Tauheed Epps, recently made an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, “Club Shay Shay,” where he shared his thoughts on the GOAT debate in basketball. During the episode, 2 Chainz expressed his admiration for Kobe Bryant, choosing the Lakers legend over LeBron James and Michael Jordan.

When asked by Sharpe who his basketball GOAT was, 2 Chainz didn’t hesitate to answer, saying, “Man I just love that Kobe guy man.” The rapper even has Kobe Bryant’s jersey number tattooed on him, showcasing his deep admiration for the late basketball icon. Epps explained that he had a personal connection with Kobe and felt that Bryant appreciated his basketball IQ. He mentioned meeting Bryant just a few days before his tragic death in 2020.

In addition to his love for Kobe Bryant, 2 Chainz also shared his interactions with Michael Jordan and LeBron James. The rapper mentioned meeting Jordan a few times and finding him cool, while he referred to LeBron as a close friend. He attributed his loyalty to the Lakers to his father, who was a fan of Magic Johnson.

During the podcast, 2 Chainz displayed his impressive jersey collection, which included an autographed Kobe Bryant jersey and LeBron James’ game-worn jersey from his 47-point performance against the Hawks in 2022.

Interestingly, 2 Chainz is not the only one to overlook LeBron James in the GOAT debate. David Falk, Michael Jordan’s longtime agent, also weighed in on the discussion, suggesting that Jordan would have won even more championships if he had formed “superteams” like LeBron. Falk pointed out that LeBron’s championships came after teaming up with other star players, unlike Jordan, who achieved his success without forming such alliances.

In conclusion, while many fans consider LeBron James as the greatest basketball player of all time, 2 Chainz and David Falk have different opinions. Their perspectives add an interesting twist to the ongoing debate about who truly deserves the title of the GOAT in basketball.
