Rep Max Miller says he was ‘run off the road’ by a ‘deranged man’ with a Palestinian flag

An alarming incident unfolded in Rocky River, Ohio, when an “unhinged, deranged man” attempted to run Jewish Republican congressman, Rep. Max Miller, off the road while waving a Palestinian flag. Miller shared details of the terrifying encounter in a video posted on social media, expressing gratitude that his daughter was not in the vehicle at the time.

The former Marine Corps Reserves member reported the incident to Capitol Police and local authorities, vowing that the perpetrator would face justice for his actions. Despite the scare, Miller remained resolute, continuing with his planned meetings and emphasizing the importance of addressing grievances through proper channels rather than resorting to violence.

Antisemitic incidents have been on the rise in the US, with a staggering 344% increase over the past five years, according to the Anti-Defamation League. Last year alone saw a record-breaking 9,354 incidents of antisemitic assault, harassment, and vandalism, averaging more than 25 targeted incidents per day.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and other Democratic leaders condemned the attack on Rep. Miller, emphasizing the need for Congress to take decisive action to ensure the safety of all members. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the escalating political violence in the country and the urgent need for measures to address and prevent such occurrences.

Capitol Police and the Rocky River Police Department have yet to comment on the incident, but Miller’s courage and determination in the face of adversity serve as a testament to his commitment to serving his constituents. As the nation grapples with rising tensions and acts of violence, it is imperative for leaders to come together to uphold the principles of democracy and safeguard the well-being of all individuals.
