Revel Bikes relocates to Golden
Revel Bikes Founder Adam Miller Moves Company to Golden
Adam Miller, the founder and owner of Revel Bikes, has made the decision to relocate his company from Carbondale to Golden. After buying back the business from private equity, Miller is focused on building Revel Bikes into a modern, direct-to-consumer e-commerce business.
One of the main reasons for the move is to improve efficiency in fulfillment and operations. Miller explained that the warehouse in Carbondale was not conducive to the company’s goals of becoming more efficient and cost-effective.
While being located on the Western Slope had its advantages, such as easy access to trail riding, the remote location of Carbondale resulted in higher shipping costs and delays. Miller cited instances where weather-induced road closures on Interstate 70 caused significant delays in shipments, impacting the company’s profitability.
Miller plans to bring three of his Carbondale employees to the new headquarters in Golden and hire six more. He emphasized the importance of providing a stable living environment for his employees, especially in light of rising real estate prices in Carbondale.
In Golden, Revel Bikes will have a showroom for customers to demo the bikes, along with office space and warehouse facilities. Miller hopes to have the warehouse up and running by March 1 and the showroom open shortly after.
Despite the move, Miller intends to maintain a presence in Carbondale, potentially with a showroom. He highlighted the significant increase in sales since taking back control of the business, with a goal of achieving healthy annual growth in the coming years.
Overall, Miller is optimistic about the move to Golden, citing the strategic business advantages and access to world-class trails for employees to enjoy.
