Jabari “Baby Uiie” Henley, the son of prominent rap figure and alleged gang leader Eugene “Big U” Henley, has tragically passed away.
TMZ has confirmed through family sources that Jabari was shot and killed late on Halloween night. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene at the intersection of 69th Street and Figueroa Street just after 11 PM, where Jabari, a 34-year-old black male, succumbed to his injuries.
According to reports, Jabari approached a vehicle and was shot. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
Luce Cannon, currently incarcerated with his uncle Big U at the Metropolitan Detention Center, expressed deep sorrow upon learning the news and speaking with Big U.
Cannon mentioned that despite their current situation, they will find strength in each other and their faith to overcome this tragic loss.
Cannon also shared his belief that Jabari may have known his assailant. The LAPD has not confirmed if the shooting was gang-related.
Big U, a reputed former leader of the Rolling 60’s Neighborhood Crips gang and a well-known figure in the music industry for managing artists like Kurupt and the late Nipsey Hussle, is currently serving time for a federal indictment.
In addition to Jabari, Big U is survived by two sons and a daughter.
Rest in peace, Jabari “Baby Uiie” Henley.
