Rosie O’Donnell, The White House Fight Over ‘The View’ Being Canceled
Rosie O’Donnell, a former host on ABC’s “The View,” recently expressed concern about the iconic daytime talk show potentially being canceled amid rumors of ABC reviewing its alleged “liberal bias.” The White House even issued a statement suggesting that “The View” could be the next show to be taken off the air, following the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” on CBS. President Donald Trump has also called for Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon to be axed.
In a TikTok post, O’Donnell spoke out about the current political climate, stating that the show featuring five women sharing their opinions is seen as a threat in the Trump era. She emphasized the importance of not allowing the media to be silenced and encouraged her followers to continue speaking up for what they believe in.
O’Donnell’s remarks, particularly her mention of co-host Joy Behar, drew a response from the White House. A spokesperson criticized both women, calling them “irrelevant losers” and suggesting that the country is better off with O’Donnell living abroad.
Behar, known for her outspoken criticism of Trump, recently sparked controversy when she suggested that Trump is jealous of former President Barack Obama. In response to Trump’s allegations against Obama, Behar pointed out the stark differences between the two leaders and suggested that Trump’s jealousy is driving his behavior.
The White House spokesperson fired back at Behar, labeling her as suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and insinuating that “The View” could face cancellation due to its low ratings. Behar and her co-hosts, including Whoopi Goldberg, have consistently voiced their disapproval of Trump and his policies on the show.
Despite facing backlash from the White House, O’Donnell and Behar remain steadfast in their commitment to speaking out against injustice and advocating for truth. The ongoing tension between the hosts of “The View” and the Trump administration highlights the importance of freedom of speech and the media’s role in holding those in power accountable.
