Samsung Galaxy S26 Might Get Brilliant Pixel-Exclusive Feature
Samsung fans have something to look forward to with the upcoming release of the Galaxy S26 series. Not only will these flagship devices feature Qi2 magnetic wireless charging to rival the Google Pixel 10 series, but they may also be equipped with Google’s coveted Scam Detection feature.
According to reports from Tech Advisor, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 models, including the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, are set to receive the Scam Detection feature currently exclusive to Google’s Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 devices. Code references found in Google’s Phone app point to the integration of Gemini Nano AI technology for identifying scam calls and texts on the Galaxy S26 range.
The inclusion of Scam Detection on Samsung’s flagship devices could significantly enhance user security and reduce a key competitive advantage that Pixel phones currently hold. Google’s Nano AI technology enables on-device processing to detect and notify users of potential scam calls, helping to prevent falling victim to phishing attacks via phone calls, text messages, and chat apps.
The evidence found in the source code of the Phone by Google app suggests that Samsung’s implementation of Scam Detection will utilize Google’s portable AI model, similar to the advanced version found on the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 models. This development signifies a step towards feature parity between Samsung and Google devices and gives Samsung users one less reason to opt for a Pixel phone instead.
However, one potential obstacle to the seamless integration of Scam Detection on Samsung devices is the fact that Samsung phones typically come preinstalled with Samsung’s own dialer app instead of Google’s Phone app. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will switch to Google’s dialer in their One UI 8.5 software, as they did with Google Messages in 2024.
The Galaxy S26 range is rumored to launch on February 25th, so fans won’t have to wait long to find out if these exciting new features will indeed be included on Samsung’s latest flagship devices. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
