Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Gemini Cover Screen Update Arrives

Samsung has made a significant update to its older foldable phones, specifically the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The Gemini AI feature, previously exclusive to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, can now be accessed on the cover displays of the Galaxy Z Flip 6. This update brings a much-needed improvement to the external screen functionality of older models, allowing users to access Google’s Gemini AI assistant directly from the cover display.

To enable Gemini on the Galaxy Z Flip 6, users can simply issue the ‘Hey Google’ command or add the app to Samsung Good Lock’s launcher widget. This new feature eliminates the need to constantly open the phone to access the AI assistant, making it more convenient and user-friendly. However, it’s worth noting that screen sharing is the only Gemini feature that is not available on the cover display.

Samsung’s move to bring Gemini to older foldable phones coincides with the company’s efforts to improve its software update strategy. Recently, Samsung started rolling out the One UI 8 and Android 16 update to older devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S23 range, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+. This commitment to software updates ensures that users of older devices can continue to enjoy the latest features and improvements.

Overall, the addition of Gemini to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 cover display is a welcome update that enhances the usability of older foldable phones. With Samsung’s continued focus on software updates, users can expect to see more improvements and enhancements to their devices in the future.
