Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold 2 & Z Slide Rumoured

Samsung is making waves in the tech world with reports of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold TriFold 2 and a new Galaxy Z Slide concept. This news comes in the wake of rumors suggesting that the original Galaxy Z TriFold was being discontinued in Korea.

While some may have interpreted the discontinuation news as a major setback, it appears that the Galaxy Z Fold TriFold will continue to be sold in the US market despite domestic sales ending in Korea after just three months. According to reports from Korea, Samsung is already working on the next iteration of the TriFold concept, aptly named the Galaxy Z TriFold 2. This second-generation device is expected to launch in mid-2027 and will feature a significantly slimmer profile compared to its predecessor. With a rumored thickness of around 9mm when closed, the TriFold 2 is set to be a sleek and compact foldable phone that competes with the best in the market.

In addition to the TriFold 2, Samsung is also said to be developing a new concept device called the Galaxy Z Slide. This innovative device will feature a slide-out screen mechanism instead of a traditional foldable design. The concept of a slide-out screen is not entirely new to Samsung, as the company’s display division showcased a similar concept called ‘Mobile Slidable’ at MWC 2026.

The ‘Mobile Slidable’ device starts as a compact 5.1-inch phone and can be extended to a 6.7-inch display using a mechanical sliding system. This concept is expected to materialize into a commercial product by late 2027 or early 2028, offering consumers a unique and versatile alternative to traditional foldable phones.
