Sources revealed to ABC News on Wednesday that a supervisor will lead a task force comprising specialists in hostage negotiation, data storage systems/networks, and secure digital devices.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department announced that Nancy Guthrie’s family reported her missing on Sunday afternoon. Sheriff Chris Nanos emphasized that they believe she was taken against her will, and the case is being treated as an abduction. The department is currently examining potential ransom notes received, with one forwarded to law enforcement by ABC Tucson affiliate KGUN.

Nancy Guthrie’s home is considered a crime scene, with DNA samples retrieved from the premises matching her genetic profile. However, the samples did not conclusively indicate the presence of any suspects. Nancy Guthrie is described as having physical ailments and limited mobility but does not suffer from cognitive impairments.
