Seattle police chief was reportedly having lunch as $2M jewelry store robbery happened just yards away
The recent jewelry store robbery in Seattle has shocked the community, with the thieves making off with an estimated $2 million in diamonds, gold, and luxury watches. The brazen robbery took place at Menashe & Sons Jewelers in West Seattle, where four masked individuals used bear spray and a stun gun to threaten the staff before stealing from six display cases in the store.
Interestingly, Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes was reportedly just yards away from the jewelry store when the robbery occurred. Chief Barnes and his security detail were at a nearby business, unaware of the crime unfolding. It wasn’t until police vehicles with lights and sirens responded to the scene that they became aware of the situation.
The suspects were quick, spending only 90 seconds inside the jewelry store before making their escape in a getaway car. They managed to smash open a case containing an emerald necklace worth $125,000 and another case with around $750,000 worth of Rolex watches. The staff at Menashe & Sons Jewelers were left shaken by the incident and have decided to close the store for the time being.
In the aftermath of the robbery, the employees of the jewelry store sought refuge at a nearby gym, where they informed the manager of the incident. The gym locked its doors until the police arrived, as everyone was in shock and disbelief over what had happened.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the robbery, and Seattle police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Despite the traumatic experience, no one was injured during the incident. The community is hoping for a swift resolution to this unsettling crime and for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
