Senators’ Brady Tkachuk slams ‘bulls–t’ Linus Ullmark’s rumors
Brady Tkachuk has strongly condemned the rumors surrounding Ottawa Senators goalie Linus Ullmark’s leave of absence. Tkachuk expressed his displeasure with the spread of false narratives during a press conference on Saturday. He emphasized that while criticism of the team’s performance on the ice is acceptable, dragging personal matters into the spotlight is completely inappropriate.
Ullmark has been absent from the Senators lineup since December 27 due to personal reasons, as confirmed by the team. Despite the clear explanation provided by the organization, unfounded rumors began circulating on social media, prompting a response from the team’s management.
Steve Staios, the Senators’ president of hockey operations and general manager, issued a statement condemning the fabricated stories being circulated online about the team. He reiterated that Ullmark has the full support of the organization during this time and called out those spreading false information as “trolls and sick people.”
To put an end to the baseless speculation, the Senators took the step of moving Ullmark to a non-roster spot to accommodate the return of Lars Eller, who had been sidelined with a lower-body injury since early December. Ullmark’s absence has created a gap in the team’s roster, but the organization remains committed to supporting him through this challenging time.
On the ice, Ullmark has been a key player for the Senators this season, boasting a record of 14-8-5 with a .881 save percentage and a 2.95 goals against average. Despite his impressive performance, the focus remains on respecting his privacy and allowing him the space he needs to address his personal matters.
The Senators are determined to quash the unfounded rumors and maintain a supportive environment for Ullmark as he navigates his leave of absence. Tkachuk’s strong words against the spreading of false information serve as a reminder of the importance of focusing on the game and respecting the privacy of players during challenging times.
