SEPTA conductor accused of tormenting girl for 7 years had been honored for job heroics weeks earlier

A New Jersey train conductor who was recently arrested for allegedly abusing a girl for years had been praised for his heroic actions during a train fire in February. Branndon Mosley, 41, was recognized for his bravery during a SEPTA train fire incident, just weeks before he and his girlfriend were charged with confining and abusing a girl who was 11 years old when the abuse began and is now 18.

The child was reportedly forced to live in a dog crate for a year and had to use a bucket as a toilet in the couple’s home, which was described as “squalid” and filled with animals. The exact relationship between the girl and the accused couple has not been disclosed.

Mosley and his girlfriend, Brenda Spencer, 38, both from Gloucester Township, are accused of physically, mentally, and sexually abusing the girl until she managed to escape to a neighbor’s house for help. The neighbor who assisted in rescuing the child revealed shocking details of the abuse, including the girl being punished by having her hair cut and head shaved, and being kept in a dog crate.

The disturbing allegations came to light shortly after Mosley was commended for his quick actions during a train fire incident that occurred near the Crum Lynne Station in Pennsylvania. Despite his previous commendation, Mosley has since been taken off duty by SEPTA and is facing serious criminal charges, including first-degree kidnapping, aggravated assault, and sexual assault.

The neighbor who helped rescue the girl expressed disbelief at the horrific events that took place next door, emphasizing the importance of being aware of what may be happening behind closed doors. The community was shocked to learn about the abuse that was happening in such close proximity.

The case continues to unfold as authorities investigate the extent of the abuse and seek justice for the victim. It serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and reporting any suspicious behavior to prevent such heinous crimes from occurring.
