Serial creep tried to rape girl, 12, inside NYC apartment building — just a week after being cut loose in similar attacks
A horrifying incident took place in Brooklyn when a 22-year-old man, Justin Lee, attempted to rape a 12-year-old girl inside an apartment building. This shocking event occurred just days after Lee was released without bail for similar attacks on two teenage girls. The first incident involved a 13-year-old girl in the afternoon, followed by an attack on a 15-year-old girl in the evening – both taking place in building lobbies.
In the recent incident, Lee targeted the 12-year-old girl in the elevator of her building at West 29th Street and Mermaid Avenue in Coney Island. He forcefully grabbed her, touched her inappropriately, and even restricted her breathing by pressing his arm against her throat. The traumatized girl was thrown to the ground and further assaulted before Lee was apprehended.
Lee now faces a slew of charges including burglary, attempted burglary, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal trespass, and harassment. During his arraignment, he was ordered to be held on a $75,000 cash bail or $150,000 bond. This came after he was released on his own recognizance for the previous attacks due to a legal technicality.
Despite Lee having no prior arrests, the NYPD is urging any other potential victims to come forward. The public is encouraged to contact the NYPD’s Sex Crimes Hotline, Crime Stoppers Hotline, or submit tips online to assist in the investigation. Lee’s mugshot has been released in hopes of identifying any additional victims who may have fallen prey to his predatory behavior.
The disturbing nature of these attacks highlights the importance of vigilance and reporting any suspicious behavior to authorities. It is crucial to prioritize the safety and well-being of individuals, especially vulnerable members of society like children and teenagers. Justice must be served for the victims, and steps should be taken to prevent such heinous acts from occurring in the future.
