Seth Meyers Roasts ‘Very Hurt’ Trump Over This Oh So ‘Crazy’ SOTU Moment
In a scathing monologue on “Late Night,” host Seth Meyers took aim at President Donald Trump for feeling “very hurt” that Democrats did not give him a standing ovation during his “long and boring” State of the Union address.
Meyers questioned why Trump, whose speech was deemed the least popular in a CNN poll, expected Democrats to applaud after calling for a ban on gender-affirming care for young people without parental consent.
Mocking Trump’s reaction, Meyers impersonated the president and highlighted some of his outlandish claims, pointing out the absurdity of his expectations.
The comedian emphasized Trump’s desperation for a win by referencing his attempt to bask in the glory of the U.S. men’s hockey team’s Olympic gold medal victory. Trump met with the players, tried on a gold medal, and even fed them McDonald’s before they attended the State of the Union address.
Despite Trump’s claims of winning, Meyers retorted, “Hey man, you’re not winning. They’re winning. You didn’t win anything!”
