Shawn Porter Says Terence Crawford Thought About Retiring ‘For A Long Time’

“He was talking about retiring before our fight, and then after our fight, he was still talking about retiring,” Porter tells us … “So, he’s been talking about this for a long time. This isn’t something that just popped up.”
Porter says he knew Crawford was serious about walking away from the sport after watching him lose to Canelo Alvarez earlier this year.
“When he lost to Canelo, I felt like that was it,” Porter says … “I felt like that was his last fight.”
Crawford confirmed his retirement on Tuesday … saying, “I’ve been thinking about this for a long time. I’ve been in this sport for 22 years. I’ve been through every emotion. I’ve accomplished everything I’ve wanted to accomplish.”
Crawford retires with a record of 38-1-0 … with his only loss coming to Porter in their fight last year.
