Disgraced former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore has reached a significant agreement in his legal case by accepting a plea deal with prosecutors. Moore has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors, resulting in the dismissal of his original charges.
The resolution was reached in a Washtenaw County court, where Moore is now facing charges of malicious use of an electronic communication device in a domestic relationship context and trespassing.
Initially, Moore was facing serious charges including felony home invasion and misdemeanor illegal entry without owner permission and stalking. The felony charge alone could have resulted in a five-year prison sentence.
Under the new agreement, Moore now faces lesser charges with the potential for up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine for malicious use of an electronic communication device, and up to 30 days in jail or a fine of up to $250 for trespassing.
Prosecutors have deemed these new charges as the most appropriate given the circumstances of the incident on December 10, 2025. This decision followed a thorough review of evidence and discussions with the alleged victim’s representatives.

Authorities have stated that there is insufficient evidence to pursue any charges of domestic violence. This was the case when the initial charges were filed and remains unchanged.
During the court proceedings, Moore acknowledged his plea and the implications of avoiding a trial. He expressed his understanding to the judge, signaling the conclusion of any potential legal proceedings.
Throughout the courtroom appearance, Moore received support from his wife, Kelli. The couple arrived at the courthouse hand-in-hand earlier in the day, showcasing a united front.
Moore’s sentencing is scheduled for April 14.
