Showbiz Leaders AI Deep Dive at Variety Entertainment Summit at CES

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has a long history, dating back to its launch in 1967. Over the years, it has evolved and settled into a regular event held every January in Las Vegas. One of the highlights of this event is the Variety Entertainment Summit, which has been a staple of the New Year’s tradition for many years. This summit brings together leaders from various media verticals to discuss how cutting-edge technologies are transforming entertainment and shaping culture.

This year, the Variety CES offering will consist of two parts, both hosted at C-Space Studio at the Aria. The Variety Entertainment Summit will take place on Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by the Variety Business of Creators Summit, presented by Samsung Ads, on Jan. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The lineup of participants includes industry leaders such as Disney president Rita Ferro, Hasbro president Kim Boyd, and actors Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Simon Helberg.

The conversations at this year’s summit will be particularly relevant due to the rapid advancement of AI technology, which is seen by many as a potential threat. However, Jon Liebman, chairman and CEO of Brillstein Entertainment Partners, believes that AI is just the latest in a series of technological disruptors that have actually fueled the growth of the entertainment industry over the years.

Liebman’s perspective is echoed by Jonathan Yunger, co-founder and CEO of Arcana, an AI-powered content production platform. Yunger emphasizes the importance of combining AI technology with creative storytelling to enhance production value and reduce costs.

The panels at the Variety Entertainment Summit will cover a range of topics, including the new business of entertainment, AI storytelling, events across platforms, and the future trends that will shape the industry. The summit will also feature a headliner conversation with Anthony Wood, founder and CEO of Roku.

The Variety Business of Creators Summit on Jan. 8 will delve into the state of the creator economy in media and entertainment, the rise of creators on TV, and the power of creator brands. Additionally, there will be discussions on the live shopping era, the future of creator marketing, and fireside chats with industry experts.

Overall, the Variety CES offering promises to be a thought-provoking and insightful event that will explore how technology continues to impact the entertainment industry and shape its future.
