BeIN Media Group Extends Exclusive Content Rights Deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment

BeIN Media Group, based in Doha, has recently announced a multi-year extension of its partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), securing exclusive content rights across the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey. This renewed agreement solidifies beIN’s position as a major entertainment distributor in the region.

Under the terms of the deal, beIN will have first and second window rights to SPE’s film slate and television series after their theatrical releases. The content will be available on beIN’s entertainment channels, beIN On Demand, and streaming platforms TOD and beIN Connect in both Arabic and English for MENA territories. In Turkey, English and Turkish versions will be accessible through Digiturk’s entertainment channels.

Sony’s impressive theatrical slate includes highly anticipated titles such as “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” “28 Years Later,” “Until Dawn,” and “Karate Kid: Legends.” Recent releases like “Venom: The Last Dance,” “Kraven the Hunter,” “Saturday Night,” “I’m Still Here,” and “Paddington in Peru” may also make their way to beIN’s platforms.

On the television front, viewers can look forward to fan-favorite series like “Outlander,” “The Good Doctor,” “Twisted Metal,” and anime titles from Crunchyroll such as “Jujutsu Kaisen” and “My Hero Academia.”

Esra Özaral Altop, Chief Entertainment Content Officer at beIN Media Group, expressed her pride in extending the partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, a creative powerhouse that continues to captivate global audiences. She emphasized the dedication to curating premium entertainment for viewers in MENA and Turkey.

Mark Young, Executive VP of Distribution and Networks for EMEA at Sony Pictures Television, echoed the sentiment by stating that Sony Pictures’ passion is to bring great stories to audiences, and beIN remains the perfect partner to deliver this content to viewers in MENA and Turkey.

The extension of the agreement builds upon the original deal signed in 2021 and further strengthens beIN’s entertainment portfolio across its coverage territories. While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, it is clear that both beIN and Sony are committed to providing top-notch entertainment to audiences in the region.
