‘South Park’ Starts Season 28 With ‘6-7’ TikTok Trend and Peter Thiel
After a three-week hiatus, fans of the popular animated show “South Park” were excited to see the premiere of Season 28. However, to their surprise, the season ended abruptly after just five episodes, instead of the planned 10. Comedy Central confirmed the news, but no reasons were given for the sudden decision.
The Season 28 premiere episode focused on South Park Elementary being caught up in the viral “6-7” TikTok trend. The school’s principal, PC Principal, took charge to address the situation after suspecting some “satanic numerology” at play. He brought in a guest speaker, Peter Thiel, a co-founder of Palantir and self-proclaimed expert on the Antichrist.
Thiel’s talk about the Antichrist and the end of days confused the students, who started chanting “6-7” in response. He went on to explain his theory about Donald Trump being the key to the Antichrist’s arrival, linking it to a specific measurement of Trump’s manhood.
Frustrated by the students’ obsession with “6-7,” Thiel delved into the school’s data center with PC Principal and Jesus Christ, the school counselor, to investigate further. Using AI face detection technology, they discovered a pattern of students making the “6-7” gesture at specific intervals.
Thiel’s mission to stop the Antichrist led him to work secretly for JD Vance, who wanted to prevent the devil child’s birth to take Trump’s place. Suspecting a connection to the demon spawn, Thiel zeroed in on one child: Eric Cartman.
In a comical twist reminiscent of “The Exorcist,” Thiel attempted to exorcise Cartman but ended up covered in vomit. Unable to complete the task, he informed Cartman’s mother of the impending danger and the need to take her child to D.C. for further investigation.
The episode cleverly incorporated the viral phrase “6-7” from the song “Doot Doot (6 7)” by Skrilla, which gained popularity on TikTok. Thiel’s character, known for his controversial views, added a humorous yet eerie tone to the storyline.
Thiel’s recent controversial lectures on religion and technology, where he labeled Greta Thunberg and AI critics as “legionnaires of the Antichrist,” added an interesting layer to his portrayal in the episode.
Overall, “South Park” Season 28 premiere offered a blend of humor, social commentary, and a touch of the supernatural, keeping fans entertained and intrigued. The unexpected ending of Season 27 sets the stage for more unpredictable and satirical storytelling in the episodes to come.
