SouthState Bank planning $3M remodel of Downtown Denver office

SouthState Bank Investing $3 Million in Remodeling Colorado Office

SouthState Bank, a Florida-based institution, is revamping its new Colorado location at 1331 17th St. in Downtown Denver. The $3 million renovation project will cover 25,000 square feet of office space previously occupied by Independent Financial.

Mark White, president of the Colorado market for SouthState Bank, stated that the Downtown Denver office serves as the main Colorado location for the bank, housing approximately 60 employees.

The remodeling project includes updating the 17,500-square-foot second-floor space with new paint, carpet, furniture, and a kitchen area. Additionally, changes will be made to the first-floor windows to allow more natural light in. The retail branch, renovated in 2020, will remain unchanged.

Technology upgrades are also on the agenda, with the project expected to be completed within four months.

SouthState Bank currently holds the 12th-highest deposit share among Denver-metro banks, with $4 billion in loans and deposits in Colorado. Despite the acquisition of Independent Financial, SouthState Bank retained all 450 employees and added eight bankers, rebranding all 31 branches.

Looking ahead, White expressed plans to open two or three additional branches along the Front Range in the coming years.
