Spring & Mulberry chocolate bars recalled nationwide over salmonella concerns

A recall has been issued for chocolate bars sold across the U.S. due to potential salmonella contamination. The Mint Leaf Date-Sweetened Chocolate Bars by Spring & Mulberry, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, are affected by the recall after routine testing raised safety concerns, as stated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in a recent announcement.

The recall specifically involves lot No. 025255 of the 2.1-ounce chocolate bars, which have been available online and through select retailers nationwide since September 15, 2025. The teal-packaged bars have the lot number printed on both the box and inner wrapper.

Spring & Mulberry initiated the recall of the specific lot to prevent any potential health risks as identified during routine testing by a third-party laboratory. As of now, no illnesses related to the consumption of these chocolate bars have been reported.

Salmonella infection can lead to serious consequences, especially for young children, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, with rare cases resulting in severe complications such as arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.

Consumers are advised not to consume the affected chocolate bars and to dispose of them. Refunds can be obtained by contacting Spring & Mulberry via email, according to the FDA.

This chocolate bar recall comes amidst a series of other food recalls, including cheese products testing positive for listeria monocytogenes and frozen tater tots being recalled due to potential plastic fragments. Spring & Mulberry has not yet responded to FOX Business’ request for comment regarding the recall.
