‘Squid Game’ Season 3 Breaks Another Netflix Ratings Record

The Korean drama “Squid Game” continues to be a massive hit on Netflix, breaking records for the second week in a row with its third season. The show quickly climbed the ranks to become one of the most popular non-English-language series on the platform, reaching an impressive 106.3 million views in just 10 days. This milestone makes it the fastest-growing series in Netflix history, surpassing even the success of its first two seasons.

In comparison to English-language shows, “Squid Game” Season 3 still holds its own among the top titles. It ranks behind only a few highly popular series like “Wednesday” Season 1, “Adolescence,” and “Stranger Things” Season 4 in terms of total views. With 81 days left before the final tally, it is expected to climb even higher on the list.

During the viewing window of June 30 to July 6, “Squid Game” Season 3 dominated as the most-watched Netflix title of the week, with 46.3 million views. The success of the third season also led to increased viewership of the previous seasons, with Season 2 and Season 1 following close behind in second and third place respectively.

On the English-language movies chart, “The Old Guard 2” starring Charlize Theron and Uma Thurman made a splash with 37.5 million views in just five days. The film’s release also boosted the viewership of its predecessor, “The Old Guard,” which landed in fourth place with 9.5 million views.

Other notable entries on the English-language charts include “KPop Demon Hunters” at No. 2 with 22.7 million views, and “Infinite,” the Mark Wahlberg sci-fi film, which reached 10.4 million views in its third week on the chart after moving to Netflix from Paramount+.

In the realm of English-language TV, “The Waterfront” led the pack with 5.6 million views in its third week on Netflix. It was followed by two new entries: Season 2 Volume 1 of “The Sandman” and “Attack on London: Hunting the 7/7 Bombers” with 5.3 million and 4.7 million views respectively.

Overall, “Squid Game” Season 3 continues to be a powerhouse on Netflix, captivating audiences around the world with its intense storyline and compelling characters. As the show continues to break records and climb the ranks, it solidifies its place as a cultural phenomenon and a must-watch series for viewers of all backgrounds.
