Statewide manhunt for suspect after 4 dead in shooting at Montana bar: Sheriff

A tragic incident unfolded in Montana as a statewide manhunt is currently underway following a shooting at a bar in Anaconda, western Montana. The Granite County Sheriff’s Office reported that four individuals lost their lives in the shooting.

The suspect in question, identified as Michael Paul Brown, aged 45, is currently on the run and is considered armed and dangerous. Officer Rico Barkell emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “Anytime you got an active shooter still on the loose, it’s going to be dangerous.”

The shooting took place at The Owl Bar in Anaconda, a small city with a population of around 9,000 people in southern Montana. Authorities disclosed that Brown was last spotted driving a 2007 white Ford F-150 pickup with Montana license plates. SWAT teams have already cleared Brown’s residence in Anaconda, with Barkell suggesting that the suspect may have fled to the nearby town of Stumptown on foot.
