Stephen Colbert Exposes Trump’s Strange New Fundraising Messages
In a recent monologue, Stephen Colbert joked about the increasingly bizarre fundraising emails sent out by former President Donald Trump.
One email highlighted by Colbert featured Trump asking recipients if he would hear from them before Valentine’s Day, complete with a button to “Take Poll.”
Colbert quipped, “Just what everyone wants on Valentine’s Day – a 79-year-old man begging you to ‘take poll.'”
The email also included a message from Trump to a supporter named Chris, saying, “I hope you STILL love me Chris. I didn’t think you’d leave me hanging this close to Valentine’s Day.”
Colbert found the message to be “kind of creepy.”
Another email from Trump warned recipients that their “Trump Membership” was on its “last leg,” with Colbert humorously questioning why someone’s leg would be ticking.
In a mock Trump impression, Colbert joked, “I’ve strapped a bomb to your thigh. If you ever want to see your shins again, ‘take poll.'”
Colbert’s humorous take on the emails was part of his Thursday night monologue.
