A 28-year-old man was stabbed in an unprovoked attack outside a John Jay College of Criminal Justice building, according to police. The incident occurred around 7:10 p.m. on Thursday in front of a building on 10th Avenue near West 59th Street. The building is home to the university’s historic Haaron Hall, which houses the world’s largest criminal justice library.
The victim was stabbed in the back and was immediately taken to Mount Sinai West hospital, where he is currently in stable condition. It is not clear whether the victim is affiliated with the school. The attacker fled south on Tenth Avenue, and as of Friday evening, no arrests have been made.
