Supernatural Reality Competition ‘Battle of Fates’ Tops Disney+ Korea

Supernatural reality competition show “Battle of Fates” has made a huge impact on Disney+ in Korea, surpassing the previous viewership record set by “Moving” in 2023. The show, which premiered on Feb. 11, features contestants from Korea’s spiritual and predictive arts community, such as fortune-tellers, tarot readers, and shamans, who compete to prove the accuracy of their readings.

Judged based on audience numbers in the first 12 days of its release, “Battle of Fates” has also been named the top-performing new series of 2026 across Disney+’s Asia Pacific region. Due to its success, Disney+ has announced plans to create local versions of the show for other markets.

The competition format of the show sees contestants using a variety of techniques and tools to outshine their competitors and avoid elimination. The season concluded recently with the crowning of Korea’s top fate reader from the initial group of 49 contestants. The finale episode is exclusively available on Disney+.

“Battle of Fates” is available for streaming internationally on Disney+ and on Hulu in the U.S. The show joins Disney+’s growing lineup of unscripted content, which includes popular series like “I Am Boxer,” “The Zone: Survival Mission,” and “My Name Is Gabriel” featuring Blackpink’s Jennie. In addition, viewers can look forward to two upcoming Japanese originals in 2026: “Travis Japan Summer Vacation!! in the USA,” a travel documentary following pop group Travis Japan in the United States, and the “Daigo Project” variety show, marking Disney+’s first Japanese original in that format.

With its record-breaking viewership and engaging content, “Battle of Fates” has solidified its place as a standout show on Disney+ and is set to captivate audiences around the world.
