Surveillance video shows Dallas ICE agents protecting detainees as gunfire rains down on facility

Surveillance footage obtained by Fox News captured the intense moments when ICE agents at a Dallas facility had to take cover and protect detainees as gunfire erupted outside on Wednesday morning. The video shows agents quickly ushering detainees inside the facility while gunfire rang out in the background. Despite the chaos, the agents remained focused on ensuring the safety of everyone involved.

In the footage, ICE agents can be seen ducking for cover behind two white vans as they shielded the detainees from the gunfire. One handcuffed detainee appeared to be injured, with blood visible on his head. The agents worked swiftly to move the detainees to safety, guiding them down a hallway within the facility.

As the situation unfolded, six agents emerged from the facility and approached one of the vans. Two agents took cover behind the van as another agent, dressed in tactical gear, inspected the vehicle. The gravity of the situation was evident as the agents worked together to assess the safety of the detainees and the surrounding area.

The gunman, identified as Joshua Jahn, carried out the attack from a nearby rooftop, targeting federal law enforcement officers at the facility. Tragically, one detainee lost their life, and two others sustained injuries during the shooting. Jahn ultimately took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Following the incident, the FBI revealed details about Jahn’s possible motive. It was discovered that he had downloaded a document titled “Dallas County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management,” which contained a list of DHS facilities. Additionally, Jahn’s online search history indicated an interest in ballistics and references to a video involving Charlie Kirk.

Further investigation uncovered that Jahn had searched for apps that tracked the movement of ICE agents and left a note behind indicating his intentions to create fear among ICE agents. The presence of ammunition with “ANTI-ICE” markings at the scene added to the chilling nature of the attack.

Nancy Larson, acting U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas, addressed the media, highlighting the severity of the situation. She emphasized that the shooting marked the third violent attack or threat against ICE facilities during her tenure. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities working diligently to unravel the complexities of the attack and ensure justice is served.
