Suspected Rodeo Drive robbers arrested in Oakland
A group of five individuals, including three teenagers, were apprehended in Oakland and charged for a violent daytime robbery on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills in late 2024. The audacious thieves, captured on surveillance cameras fleeing the scene on November 23, 2024, were arrested more than a year later in their hometown of Oakland.
The suspects, identified as 18-year-olds Jaeyden Duncan, Wendel Stevenson, and Kingelijah Stevenson, along with 22-year-old D’Angelo Tedla, faced charges of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, as per the Beverly Hills Police Department. The fifth suspect, Kingikirah Stevenson, aged 31, was charged solely with robbery.
During the robbery, the masked culprits assaulted a man by hitting him with a gun and forcefully pushed a woman to the ground, proceeding to kick her repeatedly. They made off with handbags, cash, and even an engagement ring before escaping in a white rental car driven by one of the assailants.
A video of the incident captured the chaotic scene outside a Bulgari store, with the suspects dressed in all black sprinting down the street. Distressed screams could be heard as two individuals were seen kneeling over a third person, likely a victim in distress.
In the subsequent months, detectives from Beverly Hills collaborated with the US Marshals Service Task Force to investigate the case and ultimately make the arrests. The diligent efforts of law enforcement led to the successful apprehension of the suspects in Oakland, culminating in charges being filed against them for their involvement in the brazen robbery.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the prevalence of criminal activities in affluent areas like Beverly Hills, highlighting the importance of swift and effective law enforcement response to ensure the safety and security of residents and visitors alike.
