Taylor Swift Will Be Called as Hostile Witness in Trial
Published
Taylor Swift may have avoided depositions in Blake Lively‘s legal battle against Justin Baldoni, but she will definitely be summoned as a witness by Baldoni should the case proceed to trial, according to sources with direct knowledge.
The involvement of Taylor Swift in the escalating conflict between Baldoni and Lively has become evident, prompting Baldoni to call her to the stand to inform the jury.
Baldoni intends to label Swift as a hostile witness, implying that Taylor exhibited a bias against him. This strategic move allows Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, to pose leading questions and challenge Swift’s stance in the proceedings.
Recent developments in the case have revealed Swift’s significant involvement in the dispute between Baldoni and Lively, indicating her clear support for Blake. The narrative propagated by Taylor’s team, suggesting her lack of engagement and surprise during a confrontation at a NYC penthouse involving Lively and Baldoni, appears to be unfounded.
In a text message, Taylor suggested, “If Justin was strategic, he would exclude Taylor Swift from the scenario to empower you over the film. She is your ally, not his.”
During a deposition, Lively mentioned, “I shared the script with Taylor while she was en route to my place because Justin was still present, and I requested her feedback.” To which Taylor responded via text, “I’ll support you in any way I can!”
In early December 2024, following a high-profile expose, Taylor texted, “I believe this individual is aware of an impending revelation as he’s already playing the victim.”
The trial is scheduled for May.
