‘Ted’ Animated Series Set at Peacock

Peacock is expanding its “Ted” universe with the addition of an animated series based on Seth MacFarlane’s popular foul-mouthed teddy bear film franchise. The new series will continue the story after the events of the two live-action “Ted” movies, with MacFarlane returning to voice the titular character alongside Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, and Jessica Barth reprising their roles as John, Sam, and Tami-Lynn.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, fans can expect to see the familiar characters navigating new adventures in animation form. Joining the cast are Kyle Mooney as the new character Apollo and Liz Richman as Ruth. This animated series marks the second “Ted” TV show on Peacock, following the success of the live-action prequel series that premiered in January 2024 and became the streamer’s most-watched original title to date.

Seyfried, who also starred in Peacock’s limited series “Long Bright River,” continues her collaboration with the streaming service through her role in the animated “Ted” series. MacFarlane takes on multiple roles in the new show, serving as writer, executive producer, and star. Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh join as writers, executive producers, and showrunners, with Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, and others from MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door Entertainment also on board as executive producers.

The original “Ted” movie was a huge box office success, grossing nearly $550 million on a $65 million budget in 2012, with the sequel bringing in over $215 million in 2015. Both films were produced by Universal Pictures and MRC Films. MacFarlane is represented by WME, Wahlberg by Leverage and WME, Seyfried by Innovative Artists, and Barth by Jackoway Austen. Mooney is represented by Rise Management and UTA, while Richman is represented by Citizen Skull Management and The Chasin Agency.

Fans of the “Ted” franchise can look forward to more hilarity and misadventures with the upcoming animated series, as Peacock continues to expand its lineup of original content. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new addition to the “Ted” universe.
