Teen shot as lawless mob takes over DTLA streets — hours after student agitators clashed with cops nearby

A chaotic street takeover in downtown Los Angeles overnight led to a teenager being shot after gunfire erupted in the area of 18th and Main streets. The 18-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital with a bullet wound, while the perpetrators quickly dispersed before the police could make any arrests.

The incident occurred just hours after federal agents were attacked by high school students outside City Hall, where one ICE officer was injured by a rock. The violent confrontation with the high schoolers resulted in multiple injuries, including two Federal Protective Services officers who were hospitalized.

Shocking footage captured the street takeover as modified cars revved their engines and performed dangerous stunts near a crosswalk. Dozens of onlookers formed a ring around the reckless drivers as they drifted across the pavement, creating a scene of chaos and mayhem.

Later on, a man in joggers was seen lying on the ground, being treated by an officer following the dramatic events. The street takeover was part of a larger protest against ICE, with high school students participating in a walkout from classes to voice their grievances.

LA’s top federal prosecutor, Bill Essayli, condemned the violent attack on federal officers and vowed to prosecute the perpetrators. He criticized the actions of the protesters and called out parents, teachers, unions, and administrators for facilitating the students’ disruptive behavior.

Despite the violent incidents, authorities are committed to identifying and apprehending the suspects involved in the attacks. The high schoolers who participated in the protest outside City Hall may also be linked to the street takeover later that night, although the connection is still under investigation.

In the wake of these events, it is essential for the community to come together to address underlying issues and prevent further acts of violence. The safety and well-being of all residents, including law enforcement officers and innocent bystanders, must be a top priority in the effort to maintain peace and order in the city of Los Angeles.
