‘Tell Me Lies’ Ending With Season 3
After three gripping seasons, the toxic love story of Hulu’s “Tell Me Lies” has finally come to a close. Creator Meaghan Oppenheimer took to Instagram to announce the series finale, which will air on Monday, Feb. 16 at 9 p.m. PT. The decision to end the show after Season 3 was a deliberate one, as Oppenheimer and her writing team had always envisioned this as the natural conclusion to the story they wanted to tell.
Based on Carola Lovering’s novel from 2018, “Tell Me Lies” first premiered in September 2022, captivating audiences with its portrayal of a tumultuous relationship between two college students and the tangled web of deceit within their friend group. The talented ensemble cast includes Grace Van Patten, Jackson White, Catherine Missal, Spencer House, Sonia Mena, Branden Cook, Benjamin Wadsworth, Alicia Crowder, and Tom Ellis.
The show cleverly unfolds across two timelines, exploring the college years at Baird College from 2008 to 2010 and the aftermath in 2015 post-college, focusing on the impending wedding of Bree (Missal) and Evan (Cook). The introduction of a new romance between Bree and Evan’s best friend, Wrigley (House), added a fresh dynamic to the storyline in Season 3, drawing fans in with its raw and authentic portrayal of trauma and healing.
Although Season 3 was not initially announced as the final season, Oppenheimer revealed that it was always the ending she had envisioned and pitched years ago. The show’s executive producers, including Emma Roberts, Karah Preiss, and Matt Matruski, have worked tirelessly to bring this captivating story to life, with 20th Television at the helm of production.
As fans eagerly anticipate the series finale of “Tell Me Lies” on Hulu, they can rest assured that the show will conclude on a high note, delivering a satisfying and intentional ending to a story that has resonated deeply with viewers. Stay tuned for more exciting stories from the talented team behind this groundbreaking series in the near future.
